Ah! I am so proud to belong to this city. A city that sweeps your feet off in its simplicity and unassuming self. A city though is coming of age embracing swift development, yet proudly clinging onto its rich heritage and flaunts it with equal elan. And it is this proud display of its cultural heritage, that makes it stand out. The pictures below were photographs taken by me on my last visit to my hometown. I was thrilled to see this happen to my city. The whole city is painted meticoulously with paintings that reflect the rich culture and tradition of the state. Each painting speaks a story which is known so little of outside the state. If you visit the city, spare some time to marvel at the paintings. It is hard to miss them.
Enjoy the pics.

I could not decide whether to appreciate the article or the pictures! Very good work.
I came to Bhubaneshwar once to attend an International conference, it was more or less a traditional city, god pics.
At that time I couldn't find any buses out there, are there any now?
Ravi, You are keeping the cultural flag of Orissa real high!!! The rest of the country need to be aware of Orissa's rich cultural heritage. These paintings truly symbolize the innocence of the tribals, rich artistic genius behind Orissa's famous temples and awesome traditional designs of dress and sarees. Nowhere in the country will you find such importance given to culture, except in Bhubaneswar. When people will actually see those designs, they can feel the difference. What a contrast! In Hyderabad, the GHMC is earning crores out of huge billboards and advertisements showing embracing local film stars showcasing their next movies in the city. Let us hope, the culture of Orissa remains intact, and let its culture not swept away by western influence.
Lovely idea and thanks for sharing.

Ravi indeed, it’s a good gesture from the city administrative that not everything for money. I say, a wonderful idea that not only brings the big things but also all those small things to our notice that we should be proud of …
I saw some of the unfinished paintings; it was my last visit to Bhubaneswar and now in its complete stage, makes it a more than a lovely place.
